Ford Motor Co. has
dominated over General Motors in the sale of sport utility vehicles. GM is coming on strong and Ford doesn't want their competitor to catch up. Ford recently gave the go ahead to dealerships to offer rebates starting next week on the Expedition and Excursion models. The cash incentives may be double recent offers. Sales of the Expedition are down 14%; 26% on the Excursion. It's expected that dealers will also offer special finance packages. Other rebates and incentives should be offered on Ford mid-size SUV's. Watch out for other special deals that just about force the consumer into one of these large vehicles. GM is expected to match Ford incentives and rebates. Imports have exceeded the sale of domestic vehicles even during the period of the slowing economy. The strength of the dollar also puts pressure on the Big 3 to spark sales. Check out Kelly Blue Book at http://www.kbb.com for a full list of rebates and incentives on all makes and models of vehicles - foreign and domestic. You'll be able to view cash rebate amounts paid by manufacturers to dealers and view special financing plans. Use these figures to negotiate your best wheel deal. |
